Every year Dr. Sanderson makes numerous presentations to students and faculty about the Advanced Placement examinations. Most schools have two seminars on the same day since the cost is the same.  In addition, some schools invite other schools/students to help defray the cost.

Based on his techniques Dr. Sanderson has a pass rate of 93% on the exam, with 84% scoring either a 4 or 5. 

 

The 3.5 hours Saturday presentation that is being offered includes a detailed discussion of the composition of the examination, techniques to improve scores on the multiple choice, free-response, and document-based sections.  There will be an emphasis on developing writing skills and thinking analytically.  Dr. Sanderson’s students’ average a score of 8 on the document-based part of the examination because of their ability to incorporate learned and required techniques. At the end of the session Dr. Sanderson will be available to answer either group or individual questions.

 

Comparative study has shown that students who attend the seminar have been more successful in both passing the examination and raising their earned score. Dr. Sanderson also continues to communicate with the students and works with them after the presentation on an individual basis to address their concerns and assist in preparation until the examination in May.   Here is what you can tell the administration - Dr. Sanderson has been told that if a student does what he tells them to do on the exam it can raise their score a whole point ie. it can make 4 into a 5, or more importantly a 2 into a 3.
